Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens
An internationally renowned botanical masterpiece where the elegance of English gardens meets the geometric charm of Italian terraces. The Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens are an open-air gallery that changes colour, shape and fragrance with every season.
Set in Pallanza, Verbania, the gardens were created through the vision and determination of Scottish captain Neil McEacharn. He bought the estate in 1931 with a clear aim: to create a botanical oasis unlike any other, with thousands of exotic plants and rare species from around the world.
Walking along its seven kilometres of paths feels like travelling through distant landscapes in a few steps. Discover the water features of the terraced fountains, ponds with giant Victoria cruziana water lilies and a succession of blooms throughout the year, from spring tulips and summer dahlias to the warm colours of autumn.
A place of rare beauty where plants, landscape and harmony come together in memorable fashion.
